About The Position

Nuvation Bio is a biopharmaceutical company tackling some of the greatest unmet needs in oncology by developing differentiated and novel therapeutic candidates. Our vision is to significantly change the practice of oncology by developing medicines that provide truly meaningful improvements in quality of life and survival for people with cancer. The Senior Manager, Congress Strategy and Operations will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of key tactics related to US and global congress planning and operations for the medical affairs team. This includes leading the successful end-to-end planning, management, coordination, and execution of top-tier congress events and medical booths. This role is responsible for delivering innovative oversight for congress activities, ensuring alignment with business objectives, cross-functional partners, compliance standards, and budget expectations. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for medical team operations, including driving medical affairs team meetings agendas and notes, SharePoint management, and Alliance management meetings. Additional responsibilities will be identified based on team and business needs. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication and project management skills, along with strong operations and logistics management capabilities, advanced financial planning and budget management acumen, proven vendor management experience, and a successful track record in planning and executing congress activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with 5+ years in biotech and/or pharma in congress planning, operations, strategy, or logistics is required
  • Previous oncology experience required
  • Oncology medical affairs/ medical operations experience desired
  • Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and sense of urgency
  • Familiarity with Veeva systems and medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) required
  • Be a team player, work collaboratively with cross-functional partners towards common goals
  • Must be decisive, exercise good judgment in decisions, organized, and with the ability to prioritize a large workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently with strong sense of accountability and the ability to execute multiple projects at once
  • Ability to travel to Nuvation Bio Headquarters and US / Global congresses as appropriate (~25%)

Responsibilities

  • Lead congress planning lifecycle: plan, coordinate, manage, and deliver events on time, within budget, and to high level of excellence for medical affairs
  • Align with cross-functional partners to define congress strategy and coordination of activities
  • Develop tactical plans and execute logistics for all medical activities at congresses, including medical booths, meeting spaces, team dinners, sponsorships, advertisements, and any other activities that may arise at these meetings
  • Lead with an enterprise mindset, identify educational opportunities for medical affairs at global congresses that align with the medical strategy
  • In collaboration with Medical Strategy, execute project management logistics for global Alliance Medical meetings; coordinate schedules with Alliance partners, create agendas, capture meeting notes and identification items
  • Budget ownership and accountability; process SOWs, PO creation, ensure invoice accuracy, alignment with budget, chargebacks for congress activities
  • Manage multiple vendors to ensure end-to-end execution of all medical activities at congresses
  • Manage Veeva MLR submission relating to booth builds and content, working with Medical Content point and vendors to create booth materials, highlight pipeline and disease state education
  • Manage medical affairs team meeting agendas, scheduling, and meeting notes
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and foster positive working relationships while managing condensed timelines and multiple projects at once
