About The Position

Galaxy Digital is hiring a Senior Manager, Commissioning to lead all commissioning efforts across its Helios data center campus in Afton, Texas. The role represents Galaxy as owner and developer, establishing campus-wide commissioning standards and ensuring facilities are installed, tested, proven to design intent, and handed over to Operations ready for customer service. The Senior Manager reports to the VP, Campus Construction Manager and manages three Commissioning Managers, each assigned to a data center facility. The role works closely with the general contractor's site team and Galaxy's third-party commissioning agent, and partners with Construction, Pre-Construction, Design Engineering, Operations, and customer delivery teams. Commissioning responsibilities span design-intent review, Level 1–5 commissioning, integrated systems testing, energization, operational readiness, and turnover. This is a full-time, on-site position at Helios. The successful candidate will provide readiness and risk reporting to senior leadership, uphold acceptance criteria and readiness gates under schedule pressure, and ensure that testing—including BAS, EPMS, controls, telemetry, and failure scenarios—demonstrates design intent and maintains operational visibility and redundancy.

  • At least 10 years of experience commissioning mission-critical facilities, including at least 5 years on large-scale data centers.
  • At least 3 years in a leadership role directing commissioning through Level 5 and integrated systems testing.
  • Demonstrated success leading commissioning across multiple concurrent facilities on a single campus.
  • Experience managing and developing commissioning managers or engineers.
  • Deep technical knowledge of critical power systems, including medium- and low-voltage distribution, protective relaying, UPS, batteries, generators, and transfer systems.
  • Deep technical knowledge of mechanical cooling systems, including chilled-water plants, heat rejection, air handling, pumps, and associated controls.
  • Working knowledge of BMS, EPMS, and SCADA architectures, sequences of operation, and fire and life safety system integration.
  • Experience developing, executing, and witnessing integrated systems testing, including failure-mode and fault scenarios.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE Guideline 0, NETA acceptance testing standards, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 110.
  • Experience directing general contractor commissioning teams and third-party commissioning agents, with strong command of test documentation, issue tracking, and P6 schedule integration.

  • Full-time, on-site presence at Helios in Afton, Texas.
  • Track record of leading and developing high-performing technical teams.
  • Ability to hold readiness gates under schedule pressure, supported by data and clear communication.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence technical and executive stakeholders.

  • Set campus-wide commissioning standards and quality expectations.
  • Manage and develop three Commissioning Managers, standardize methods and reporting, and balance resources across facilities.
  • Own the campus commissioning plan and align it with the Owner's Project Requirements and Basis of Design, including acceptance criteria, test standards, and readiness gates.
  • Ensure commissioning requirements are included in general contractor, trade, and OEM scopes.
  • Review and approve test scripts, sequences of operation, and integrated systems testing scenarios for critical power, mechanical cooling, and BAS/EPMS controls and telemetry.
  • Ensure tests prove design intent, redundancy, and failure-mode response.
  • Integrate commissioning into the Primavera P6 master schedule and coordinate daily with the general contractor's commissioning lead and trade partners on readiness, resourcing, and OEM startup support.
  • Hold the general contractor accountable through readiness reviews, deficiency tracking, and commercial remedies.
  • Manage Galaxy's third-party commissioning agent, challenge findings, and maintain a campus-level issues log.
  • Drive issues through root-cause analysis, corrective action, retesting, and closure.
  • Plan utility energization and load-bank testing, enforcing safe work during energized testing in partnership with EHS.
  • Coordinate OFCI equipment delivery, factory testing, and manufacturer startup with the commissioning sequence.
  • Adapt commissioning sequences and author MOPs to complete Level 4–5 and IST activities after early data hall turnover without lowering acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with Galaxy Operations and customer delivery teams on documentation, training, operating procedures, witnessed testing, and formal turnover.
  • Ensure each facility meets acceptance criteria at handoff.
  • Provide candid readiness reporting to the VP and senior leadership, and incorporate lessons learned into design standards, specifications, and Pre-Construction planning.
  • Commission BAS, EPMS, and associated controls as integrated systems; verify point-to-point integrity, alarms, trends, and operator visibility across critical power and mechanical systems.
  • Verify that telemetry remains accurate and actionable during failures such as loss of utility, controls network or server outages, communication failures, and transfer events, while redundancy is maintained.
