About The Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Manager – Collections & Recoveries to lead the strategy, performance, and continuous optimisation of its collections function. This is a senior leadership role focused on developing effective collections strategies, improving portfolio performance, and leading a high-performing team within a regulated financial services environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in reducing credit losses, improving recovery rates, and ensuring collections activities are aligned with business objectives, customer outcomes, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Collections, Recoveries, or Credit Risk within Financial Services.
  • Strong experience with unsecured lending, loans, or credit card portfolios.
  • Previous leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of collections strategies, portfolio management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, commercial, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using data and analytics to improve collections performance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Fluent English is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master's degree or relevant professional certification will be considered an advantage.
  • German language skills will be considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and optimise collections and recoveries strategies for lending and/or credit card portfolios.
  • Monitor delinquency, recovery rates, and portfolio performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Design customer segmentation and collections strategies based on risk profiles and portfolio analytics.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and customer outcomes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Collections & Recoveries team.
  • Collaborate with Credit Risk, Compliance, Legal, Customer Service, and other key stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with external collections agencies and service providers.
  • Present portfolio performance, KPIs, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Analyse portfolio data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop performance reporting and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Stay informed of market developments and emerging collections technologies.
