As a Senior Manager in the Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness (CCMC), you will provide in-depth policy analysis, policy development, member engagement, and project management on issues that affect capital markets, corporate governance, financial services, asset management, consumer compliance, auditing, and accounting. You will work as part of and support a team, work with member companies to formulate policy, and be familiar with the legislative and regulatory process. An interest in financial services policy will be highly valued.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience commensurate with the role.
  • Public policy, government relations, or capital markets experience attained from working in Congress, the executive branch, trade associations, law firms, corporations, or other relevant entities.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, handle confidential information, anticipate needs, and interact with high-level executives and their staffs both internally and externally.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with customer relationship management databases, such as SalesForce.
  • Intellectually curious, a sense of humor, and the ability to deal with ambiguity in decision-making situations.
  • Familiarity with capital markets, corporate governance, or financial services policy.
  • Ability to manage multiple short- and long-term priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, collegial environment.
  • Ability to balance creating new initiatives aligned with available resources.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for collaborating with other teams at the Chamber.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage interactions with member companies and attend working group calls to catalog member companies’ interest in CCMC’s work and other issues.
  • Research legislation and regulations to support larger initiatives.
  • Draft letters opining on legislation, testimonies, blog posts, and correspondence to Congress and regulators.
  • Manage the internal approval process for letters sent to agencies and Congress.
  • Manage the weekly CCMC newsletter.
