Caterpillar’s CISM division is hiring for Sr. Manager Category Procurement role! Role Summary: This role is responsible for managing strategic breakthrough categories & Facility supplier team to drive continuous improvement in Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) across the global supplier base.

Requirements

  • Strategic Sourcing: Knowledge of strategic sourcing methods, technologies and processes; ability to analyze, improve and re-evaluate organizational procurement process continuously.
  • Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Audit and Compliance Function: Knowledge of major responsibilities and tasks of Audit and Compliance (A&C) function; ability to manage the operation of A&C function in various business environments.
  • Business Intelligence: Knowledge of business intelligence; ability to utilize business processes and technologies for gathering, storing, analyzing, and providing access to data that helps the organization make better business decisions.
  • Category Management: Knowledge of category management within an organization's goods and services sector; ability to use this knowledge to analyze and improve the end-to-end procurement process and maximize business profitability.
  • Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong expertise in procurement, supplier management, and global sourcing strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, communicate, and implement a global sourcing strategy for a specific category.
  • Identify supplier performance gaps and create improvement plans.
  • Use the QCLDM tool to track supplier progress and ensure continuous improvement with key vendors.
  • Assess long-term strategic options and lead their implementation.
  • This person will manage a high performing team of procurement professionals.
