About The Position

Johnson and Johnson is recruiting a Senior Manager Category Procurement IM MOPS located in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Sao Paulo, Brazil. This role is responsible and accountable for leading the Marketing Operations (MOPS) Procurement category of spend for the Innovative Medicine sector which represents approximately $250MM in external supplier spends supporting approximately $60Bn in global revenue. The role’s scope of responsibilities include: Determine Innovative Medicines’ business needs & priorities globally for Marketing Operations, and devise Procurement strategies to meet those needs and advance those priorities. Identify industry trends that Procurement must build into its MOPS category strategies to ensure sustainable relevance to the Innovative Medicine business. Responsible for developing & implementing an end-to-end, multi-region and multi-year procurement strategy for MOPS category built on a thorough understanding of category dynamics and clearly defined actions to create/extract value from spends. Develop supplier partnerships with strategic MOPS suppliers to include performance management, improvement of end-to-end value, and bring innovation to the business; Interface directly with suppliers to ensure alignment & achievement of J&J’s SRM objectives including quality, reliability, innovation, and cost. Must consider growing spend with responsible sourcing & sustainable suppliers. Shape performance targets (such as savings, cash flow, responsible sourcing, etc) for the Innovative Medicine Procurement organization in the role’s areas of responsibility, and ensure target achievement. Lead major global strategic negotiations for owned MOPS initiatives on behalf of the Innovative Medicine business. Coordinate and develop close collaboration with other Global Category Procurement Teams, Regional Agile Teams, Global Services, Responsible Sourcing Team and Procurement Digital, Process & Capabilities Teams and where appropriate directly with senior J&J Business Leaders, to ensure alignment with global and regional business strategies. Understand operational considerations to strongly facilitate the development, implementation, and maintenance of processes, policies, guidelines, content that drive end user efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience
  • High level of proficiency in core Procurement skills (e.g., supply market analysis, category management, supplier management and performance, operational excellence, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset required
  • Strong business acumen – the ability to understand challenges through the eyes of the business leaders
  • Strong leadership, influencing and collaboration skills at the senior executive level, as well as with peers

Responsibilities
