About The Position

The Senior Manager, Business Strategy will help shape and communicate our network and automation strategy across markets. This role operates at the intersection of strategy, operations, technology and capital planning, translating complex topics into clear narratives and recommendations for senior leaders. Working in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional environment, this leader will help the team stay ahead of a high volume of strategic priorities, leadership forums and emerging business needs. Our team shapes network and automation strategy across Walmart’s markets, collaborating across businesses and functions to translate strategy into execution. Operating in a dynamic environment, we partner with teams to build and scale capabilities that enhance service for customers, members, and associates. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Social Science, Communications, or related field and 4 years’ experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic narratives.
  • Translate network, automation and market priorities into clear recommendations for leadership.
  • Create executive materials.
  • Develop presentations, papers and decision materials for strategic reviews and capital approval forums.
  • Analyze complex questions.
  • Evaluate quantitative and qualitative inputs, alternatives, tradeoffs and business implications.
  • Partner across functions.
  • Work with Finance, Operations, Technology and market leaders to align priorities and advance shared objectives.
  • Support strategy development.
  • Evaluate opportunities and translate long-term strategies into actionable plans.
  • Connect portfolio priorities.
  • Identify dependencies, risks and opportunities across initiatives, markets and capital plans.
  • Address emerging needs.
  • Define ad hoc questions, gather relevant information and deliver accurate, timely recommendations.
