Senior Manager, Agentic AI Integrations
About The Position
The Agentic AI Integrations team is responsible for the industry-leading Rovo MCP Server, Agent to Agent integrations as well as on the mission to catapult Atlassian value by leveraging cutting-edge AI capabilities like Claude Skills, ChatGPT/Claude Apps etc., essentially we will be working on anything and everything with AI integrations into the Atlassian ecosystem. This role requires a knack for working on bleeding-edge AI technologies, with a passion to explore and learn AI transformative technologies and quickly pivot from prototyping new initiatives to building highly-scalable enterprise-grade AI products that will be used by 1000s of developers and enterprise users. A systems thinking mindset with attention to security, scalability, reliability and maintainability is crucial, along with experience driving technical decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
Requirements
- 8-10+ years in software development with at least 4+ years in people management.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML platform engineering, model serving, or agent frameworks (LangChain, Semantic Kernel, etc.).
- Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or Go.
- Experience with high-scale distributed systems, vector databases, and observability pipelines.
- Stellar people management skills and experience leading an agile software team.
- Expertise in building and maintaining high-quality system components and services.
- Ability to drive technical excellence, pushing for innovation and quality.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional engineering initiatives and mentoring technical teams.
- Operating a highly reliable (4 9s SLA), cost optimize, low-latency and high-throughput Cloud service.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with MCP architecture, A2A specification, and agent collaboration frameworks (e.g., MCP servers, UI clients, and adapters).
- Experience with observability, vector databases, and secure model-to-model communication.
- Background in enterprise integration patterns, API governance, or developer experience platforms.
- Contributions to open-source AI frameworks or standards development initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Build, coach, and mentor a team of software engineers.
- Deliver foundational components for multi-agent systems and lead the adoption of protocols like MCP and A2A.
- Partner with Product, Platform, and Data Science teams to embed AI capabilities across Atlassian.
- Maintain high-reliability services (4 9s SLA) while optimizing for cost and latency.
- Contribute to open specifications and represent Atlassian in AI interoperability working groups.
