The Opportunity

Alpha Alternatives is seeking a Senior Manager to lead engagements focused on strategic advisory and enterprise transformation. Your time will be dedicated to the Private Markets industry, helping leading private markets investors define their future vision and bring it to fruition in an efficient, innovative and scalable way. • Ability to stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business
• Ability to build strong relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels and to consistently deliver quality client services
• Ability to independently shape the approach to solving problems and effectively communicate problems and potential solutions to the client and colleagues
• Ability to confidently lead requirement elicitation sessions with client stakeholders through interviews or working sessions
• Constant development of your understanding of current market trends and processes, and sharing your knowledge to develop junior colleagues
• Understanding of our clients' unique ambitions and needs and the ability to refer them to colleagues in other Alpha Alternatives teams and areas to broaden our business relationships where possible
• Understanding of the tools, processes and applications used by Private Markets firms and their clients
• Passion for teaching our clients new methods and ways of working
• Strong communication skills with the ability to identify improvement opportunities in a client's operating model to execute more effectively
• Proven ability to lead consulting engagements, and manage client expectations with limited oversight from Partners
• Ability to lead a small team of more junior resources, taking accountability for delivery of deliverables in collaboration with Engagement Leads
• Experience supporting project execution and guiding clients through complex technology transformation initiatives
• Experience in constructing client deliverables including Target Operating Models, Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Process Flows, Functional Capability Matrix, Project Plans / Roadmaps, Data Dictionaries, IT Architecture Design, Data Flow Diagrams
• Experience defining, communicating and tracking metrics for success (OKRs and KPIs)
• Experience structuring multi-workstream, multi-year change programs with a significant technology delivery component
• Strong communication skills with the ability to create a compelling story from data analysis
• Ability to utilize storytelling techniques and industry experience to enhance credibility and deliver insights
• Ambitious and entrepreneurial in nature with the desire to grow in a collaborative environment
• Experience in data analysis, financial analysis constructing analytical models based on historical and projected data.
• 7+ years experience in management consulting, or operating in a change role in the Private Markets Investment Industry
• Experience leading teams in similar internal strategy or advisory engagements
• At least 6 years of proven experience at a recognized consulting firm or through an ‘in-house’ consulting / business analyst role at a leading financial institution
• Familiarity with private markets (credit, equity, or real assets) or the wider investment management industry preferred
• Excellent consulting and problem-solving skills, and familiarity with recognized project/change and consulting frameworks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical, and impactful manner
• Proven track record of building and sustaining lasting relationships with team members
• Appetite to support clients across our practice areas
• Intellectual capacity and ability to think in new, innovative ways to understand complex issues and develop creative solutions
• Ability to comfortably multi-task and engage in multiple initiatives concurrently
• Flexibility to travel if required

Responsibilities

• Lead client engagement teams focused on supporting our Private Market client’s definition of their technology and operational strategy, and implementing our recommendations in some of the industries most complex and exciting transformation programs.
• Manage workstreams including current state / future state analysis, strategic design, initiative prioritization, sequencing, road mapping and a phased approach to delivery.
• Build strong client relationships of trust and domain experience.
• Become a credible advisor to junior consultants within the organization, as well as your clients, helping them accelerate the delivery of products and services to their users.
