About The Position

The Senior Manager, Advanced Analytics sits within the Flow organization and plays a critical role in driving data-informed decision-making across Walmart’s operational network. This position focuses on managing and optimizing complex, data-driven initiatives that improve flow across outbound logistics, storage, delivery, and network operations. This is a hybrid role requiring both strong analytical capability and business leadership. The ideal candidate is not just a data analyst or coder, but a strategic problem solver who can independently source and interpret data, build insights from scratch, and confidently influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate is a hybrid operator—someone who is equally comfortable working deep in the data and stepping into a room with senior leaders to influence decisions. They are proactive, resourceful, and capable of building analyses from scratch while maintaining a strong business lens. This role is approximately: 70% Data Analytics (hands-on analysis, insight generation) 30% Leadership & Communication (presentations, stakeholder management, project leadership)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or related field and 4 years' experience in data analytics or related field OR 6 years' experience in data analytics or related field.
  • Strong hands-on data analysis skills, including the ability to independently pull, structure, and analyze data
  • Experience building insights from the ground up and delivering clear, actionable recommendations
  • Proven ability to lead projects and influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with executive presence
  • Experience working in ambiguous environments and creating structure

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing data models, analytical frameworks, or algorithms
  • Background in supply chain, operations, or large-scale network optimization
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization
  • Certificate in business analytics, data mining, or statistical analysis
  • Statistical programming languages (for example, SAS, R)
  • Masters: Business Administration, Masters: Information Systems, Masters: Statistics

Responsibilities

  • Independently identify, source, and analyze data across multiple systems
  • Develop advanced analytics, models, and approaches to solve complex business problems
  • Translate data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
  • Evaluate new analytical techniques and drive continuous improvement in data practices
  • Own and lead complex, high-impact projects end-to-end within the Flow organization
  • Manage risk, remove obstacles, and ensure successful implementation of initiatives
  • Drive execution of business plans by aligning priorities, tracking performance, and adapting to changing needs
  • Lead meetings and present data-driven insights to senior leadership (Directors, Sr. Directors, VP level)
  • Influence cross-functional partners across supply chain, merchandising, customer experience, and operations
  • Build strong partnerships to deliver consultative, data-backed solutions
  • Support key operational pillars including: Outbound flow management, Storage and delivery optimization, Daily flow consistency, Distribution centers and network operations (grocery and ambient)
  • Contribute to large-scale initiatives that enhance efficiency and performance across the network
