Introduction to team Our Corporate Functions are made up of teams that support Expedia Group, including our Global Finance Org., Traveler and Partner Service Platform, Legal Team, Strategy and Corporate Development Team, and People & Places Org. The Global Accounting team is part of Expedia Group’s Global Finance Organization, which helps drive decisions and unlock growth across the business by owning the balance sheet, delivering data-driven insights, and expanding margins. Within that broader organization, this team supports some of Expedia Group’s most strategic and complex accounting matters, partnering closely with Corporate Development, Valuation, Legal, and finance stakeholders across the company. This position sits within the Global Accounting group and reports to the Director of Accounting. The team plays a key role in evaluating acquisitions and other significant transactions, with responsibility across financial diligence, purchase accounting, valuation coordination, and technical accounting research. It is a highly collaborative team that helps shape accounting outcomes, support integration efforts, and provide clear guidance on issues that matter to the business.

Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor’s, Master’s, CPA or equivalent experience
  • You have 8+ Years for Bachelor’s; 6+ Years for CPA
  • You are proficient in US GAAP particularly in the areas of Revenue, Business Combinations and Debt/Equity
  • You are a self-starter with strong analytical skills, ability to dive deep, summarize and communicate important business insights, and above all else, remain flexible in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and report out on financial diligence performed on acquisition targets
  • Coordinate and incorporate results of valuation work related to acquired intangible assets and goodwill
  • Review key M&A agreements for accounting implications and be a resource to the Corporate Development team during contract negotiations related to accounting matters
  • Perform purchase accounting allocation and monitor post-acquisition triggering events
  • Coordinate integration efforts in post-acquisition period across key stakeholders both within Accounting and the broader Global Finance Organization
  • Research and document conclusions reached on technical accounting matters primarily in the areas of Business Combinations, Revenue and Debt/Equity
