Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Business Administration required.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • Strong knowledge in accounting principles and practices and a growing knowledge of firm products and services within CAAS.
  • Able to anticipate problems/barriers and help develop plans to address them.

  • Establish personal and networking relationships with clients, prospects, and referral sources through active involvement in industry, civic, and social clubs.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of tools, systems and processes and their practical applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred.
  • 7+ years of hands-on accounting experience with a large local, regional or national public accounting firm preferred.
  • Solid technical knowledge in accounting and business management software; e.g., QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online (Enterprise, Premier, etc), and Financial Cents are strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Xero, Sage, Intacct and Bill.com would be ideal.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Financial Cents, Xero, Sage, Intacct, and Bill.com.
  • Skilled in functionality and compliance of accounting software utilized by clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage practice budget, anticipate and communicate budget issues, and identify opportunities to improve engagement profitability.
  • Assist with billing and manage the CAAS personnel, including oversight of the hiring process, ensuring the team is properly trained, and annual performance evaluations are completed timely.
  • Utilize technology to streamline processes and recommend areas for increased client efficiency and reduction in operating costs.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations as it pertains to accounting services.
  • Provide clients with a well-developed strategic plan to execute their financial goals.
  • Participate in business development and identify opportunities to cross-sell value-added services to clients.
  • Meet with prospective clients, prepare proposals, and follow up on referrals to determine the need for CAAS services.
  • Establish the practice’s objectives, revenue, client and staff projections.
  • Timely completes billing and monitors KPI’s for the practice.
  • Acts as a Career Coach to staff, provides verbal and written performance feedback, and aids with goal setting.
  • Oversee client service assignments and monitor completion of work deliverables.
