About The Position

Social Futures is a leading community service organisation and registered community housing provider with 50 years’ experience creating positive social change. We work with communities, organisations and government to build inclusive communities where everyone is valued and supported. We are seeking a Senior Manager, Aboriginal Leadership and Engagement to join our team on a 7-month maternity leave contract to help make a positive social change, together. Reporting directly to the CEO and as a member of the Leadership Team, this role provides strategic cultural leadership across the organisation.

Requirements

Cultural credibility and strong relationships within Aboriginal communities and networks.
Experience in strategic planning, workforce development and organisational change.
The ability to provide high-level cultural advice in a leadership context.
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills.
Confidence working within complex and geographically dispersed environments.
Being Aboriginal is a genuine occupational qualification under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act of 1977 (NSW).
Identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

Responsibilities

Participate in the Leadership Team, embedding cultural capability into organisational strategy and decision-making.
Provide high-level cultural advice to Executive and Managers to support culturally responsive programs and services.
Maintain oversight of the Aboriginal Employment Retention and Development Strategy and support leaders to appropriately manage and develop First Nations employees.
Oversee coordination and monitoring of the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
Maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal partners, networks and advisory groups.
Provide steady leadership on emerging cultural or strategic matters.
