About The Position

The Senior Management Specialist conducts and coordinates management, operational, and financial analyses for the New York City School Construction Authority. The role prepares formal analytical reports for senior management, develops methodologies and analytical models to assess issues from a systems perspective, and coordinates departmental or Authority-wide special projects. The specialist also contributes to policy and procedure development, implementation, research, and review of the Authority Manual of Policies and Procedures. Specific duties depend on assignment to an SCA department, division, or unit. Two positions are available.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree.
• Three years of full-time experience in consulting, designing and implementing management reports, or operations, financial, and/or management analysis, including relevant computer skills; or a satisfactory combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare formal analytical reports for senior management, including analyses of vendor information, scheduling data, financial matters, metrics, and information for management and regulatory reports.
• Participate in recommending changes to existing policies and procedures or developing new ones affecting departmental operations.
• Assist senior management in implementing recommendations, which may include directing staff or contractors and vendors on a project or ongoing basis.
• Develop methodologies and analytical models to study and assess issues from a systems perspective.
• Coordinate departmental and/or Authority-wide special projects.
• Build and gain consensus on departmental policies and procedures.
• Conduct research regarding departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of the Authority Manual of Policies and Procedures.
• Perform duties specific to assignment within an SCA department, division, or unit, and other related duties as assigned.
