About The Position

The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for the daily activities to ensure the smooth operation of production equipment at the Mahwah manufacturing plant, by diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and documenting work performed, all while maintaining compliance with SOP, FDA, and ISO standards. The senior technician plays a key part in minimizing downtime and supporting manufacturing continuity.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience in lieu of education required
  • Ability to read schematics including electrical diagrams, pneumatic diagrams and hydraulic diagrams
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic system problems
  • Ability to diagnose faulty sensors, relays, motor starters, breakers, etc. and replace when needed
  • Ability able to initiate a plan of action and make decisions independently
  • Ability to complete work with a limited degree of supervision
  • Flexibility to work overtime in response to business needs
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)
  • Confidence in working with latest, state-of-the-art technology
  • Intermediate to advanced Computer skills (MS Office)
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, spoken)
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • More than 5 years' experience as a Maintenance Technician
  • Demonstrated experience working with analog and digital instrumentation

Nice To Haves

  • College or trade school degree in engineering mechanics or electronics, preferred
  • Knowledge of CNC equipment controlled by FANUC, Heidenhain and Siemen's controls is a plus
  • Working knowledge of standard maintenance tracking software (Falcony)
  • Team player and reliable
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean, SPC is a plus
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform geometry adjustment on 5 axis CNC machines
  • Perform precise geometry adjustments on 5-axis CNC machines to maintain production accuracy
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical malfunctions
  • Conduct timely repairs of machinery components including mechanical systems and hydraulic hoses
  • Respond to emergency maintenance needs during manufacturing processes to ensure minimal disruption
  • Validate and test new equipment in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), FDA, and ISO standards
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, incidents, and equipment performance variances
  • Implement preventive maintenance strategies to reduce equipment downtime
  • Work flexible hours including 2nd and 3rd shifts, weekends, and extended periods as required
  • Serve as informal resource to technicians with less experience, sharing knowledge and best practices
  • Effectively communicate to share critical information across team and shifts
  • Other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals
