About The Position

Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Senior Maintenance Specialist Technician (mechanical) who will be key support to the Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assistance Team (CEMAT). This role provides technical support as required to ships force for the assessment, fault isolation, repair, and final adjustment of specific items of Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assistance Team (CEMAT) systems and equipment. The role also involves conducting functional checks and operational tests of those systems onboard ship. Support includes repair support by JSNs, On the Job Training (OJT), logistics support/review/validations, material condition assessments and quality assurance. The position requires updating and maintaining configuration and availability report database systems, developing or updating on board training and curriculum, and conducting instruction to Sailors onboard U.S. Naval Aircraft Carriers.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university (may be substituted for up to 2 years of technician experience).
  • Working knowledge of drawings, Navy operations, NAVSEA instructions, WAF and Tagout requirements.
  • 12 years of experience in the operations, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems onboard U.S. Naval ships.
  • 4 years of experience directing or supervising a work force of skilled technical personnel in the performance of repair and maintenance functions.
  • 5 years of experience in administration of the Navy 3-M and supply system.
  • 5 years of experience with shipboard propulsion plants or auxiliary machinery equipment and/or nuclear-powered propulsion plants maintenance and repair on U.S. Aircraft Carriers.
  • Must be able to pass a background security check for access to the shipyard.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID, if travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases is required.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes (no less than 30 pounds).
  • Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
  • Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of naval vessels.
  • Employee may be exposed to fumes and irritants including welding/burning fumes, paints, oils, greases and various cleaning solutions and solvents, noise, high heat and humidity hazards while wearing the required Personal Protective equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years’ experience with pump and valve removal, overhaul, installation and alignment is preferred.
  • Pump laser alignment certification is preferred.

Responsibilities
