About The Position

The Senior Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing advanced maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of facility equipment, machinery, and infrastructure systems. This role ensures operational reliability, safety, and efficiency across all mechanical systems, supporting facility operations and minimizing downtime. The Senior Maintenance Mechanic provides guidance to junior staff, contributes to preventive maintenance programs, and assists with planning and implementing system upgrades or repairs.

Requirements

Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, repair, or related technical work, ideally in commercial or institutional facilities.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general machinery.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Proficiency with tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.
Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and supervise or mentor junior staff.
Physical ability to perform hands-on work, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with management, contractors, and maintenance teams.

Nice To Haves

Certifications in mechanical systems, HVAC, or related fields are a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and complex maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general facility equipment.
Inspect, diagnose, and repair machinery, building systems, and equipment to maintain optimal performance.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks to extend the lifespan of equipment and prevent unscheduled downtime.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and compliance documentation.
Collaborate with facility management, engineers, and contractors to plan and execute equipment upgrades or replacements.
Assist in the training and mentoring of junior maintenance staff on proper procedures, safety practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and operational issues to minimize disruptions.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and organizational policies.
Order, maintain, and manage spare parts, tools, and supplies required for maintenance activities.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, energy efficiency, and cost reduction in facility operations.
