About The Position

We are a team of innovators, collaborators, and doers, seeking a Senior ML Engineer to join us. As a Senior ML Engineer, you will build and extend the machine learning and AI systems that give our teams direct, governed access to data and AI tooling. You will design and ship models, build the infrastructure and integrations that connect large language models to real Zotec data, and help define how AI systems reason over that data safely and accurately. This role is perfect if you’re passionate about applied ML, AI tooling, and turning complex data into systems the business can actually use.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a STEM field
• 3-5 years delivering ML solutions at scale
• Proficiency in Python
• Proficiency in machine learning model development, training, and evaluation
• Proficiency in working with structured and unstructured data at scale
• Proficiency in system design for data and ML pipelines
• Familiarity with AWS, including SageMaker, Bedrock, Lambda, and Redshift
• Familiarity with Claude and other large language models
• Familiarity with ontology, knowledge graphs, or structured data modeling
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, such as CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC)
• Experience in building and maintaining tools and integrations that connect large language models to real data sources
• Experience in deploying and monitoring ML models in production on AWS
• Experience in applying knowledge representation (ontologies, taxonomies, or graphs) to improve retrieval or reasoning
• Experience in instrumenting models and pipelines for observability and performance monitoring
• Can communicate clearly and effectively with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and other engineers
• Enjoy balancing technical depth with practical problem-solving, knowing when to prioritize performance, scalability, or accuracy
• Are committed to writing clean, maintainable code and mentoring others through code reviews, documentation, and collaboration
• Enjoy collaborating closely with a supportive team to tackle complex technical challenges from start to finish
• Understand the importance of quality standards, processes, compliance and security as it relates to the healthcare industry and have general knowledge of standards such as HIPAA or PCI

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the ML models and data integrations that power our AI-driven products and internal tools
• Connect large language models to real data by building and maintaining the tools and integrations that let AI systems query and reason over Zotec’s data accurately and safely
• Own the ML lifecycle from problem framing and data preparation through model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring
• Architect for AWS, designing scalable, cost-aware ML infrastructure using services like SageMaker, Bedrock, and Lambda
• Bring structure to data by applying ontology, taxonomy, or knowledge-graph thinking where it improves retrieval, reasoning, or data quality for AI systems
• Help us continue to expand our usage of LLM application patterns with your experience in retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, and evaluation frameworks
• Utilize your experience with knowledge graphs and semantic data modeling to help us further improve data retrieval and reasoning
• Follow the appropriate development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
