About The Position

Roku is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for its Content Platform team. This role is crucial for onboarding content into the Roku ecosystem and enhancing user experience through a content knowledge platform. The engineer will integrate Generative AI and Vision Models to improve content quality and user engagement, acting as a bridge between AI research and product delivery. The position requires defining ML roadmaps, providing technical leadership on model architecture and MLOps, and executing ML initiatives aligned with business goals. The role emphasizes a culture of incremental delivery, balancing long-term research with short-term improvements.

Requirements

10+ years of total experience in software/ML engineering
MS or BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
Deep theoretical and practical understanding of Machine Learning
Understanding of the streaming business and how ML impacts the bottom line
Ability to explain complex models to non-technical executives and debate architecture with engineers
Proven track record of deploying large-scale ML models into production environments
Experience with modern ML stacks (e.g., LLMs, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Spark, and cloud-native MLOps tools)

Responsibilities

Define the roadmap for ML within the Content Platform
Provide high-level guidance on model architecture and MLOps infrastructure to ensure models are scalable and production-ready
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Content Strategy to align ML initiatives with business goals
Champion a culture of incremental delivery, balancing long-term R&D with the need to deliver measurable improvements to the production environment
