About The Position

The Senior M&A Applications Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the end-to-end lifecycle of application discovery, assessment, rationalization, and migration activities during mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert in corporate business systems-such as Finance, HR, Legal, and Procurement platforms-ensuring seamless integration, optimization, and alignment to enterprise standards. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and adept at working across functional, technical, and business teams to deliver efficient transitions that protect business continuity and maximize value realization from M&A activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise application management, business systems analysis, or IT integration roles.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to evaluate system overlaps and integration risks.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to align technical and business priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the application discovery process for acquired or divested entities, focusing on corporate business systems (ERP, HCM, CRM, Procurement, Legal, etc.).
  • Conduct detailed application inventories, dependency mapping, and integration assessments.
  • Evaluate system usage, licensing, data flows, and business criticality.
  • Partner with functional leads and IT SMEs to document key findings and risks.
  • Analyze overlap between target and existing enterprise applications to identify consolidation, retirement, or migration opportunities.
  • Develop rationalization recommendations aligned with enterprise architecture, cost, and risk considerations.
  • Support creation of the M&A Application Integration Playbook, defining best practices and templates for recurring M&A engagements.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to execute data migration, configuration, and access provisioning activities.
  • Validate successful migration outcomes and assist in cutover and stabilization support.
  • Ensure all activities comply with IT and security governance, data protection, and licensing policies.
  • Maintain documentation, decision logs, and status dashboards for M&A integration projects.
  • Provide periodic updates to IT leadership and M&A PMO on progress, issues, and mitigation plans.
  • Contribute to building reusable frameworks, tools, and templates for M&A application processes.
  • Capture lessons learned and refine future M&A playbooks to accelerate future integrations.
