About The Position

We are looking for a local SEO practitioner to step into an active performance problem. Organic lead volume is declining across a portfolio of home services brands — including double-digit year-over-year drops at several locations — and there is no external vendor currently in place to address it. This person comes in, audits fast, identifies the highest-impact gaps, and starts fixing them. The work is urgent and the opportunity to move the needle quickly is real. Year-to-date organic performance across a portfolio of home services brands shows clear, recoverable declines that are directly impacting lead volume and revenue. Key indicators include: A residential cleaning franchise network: organic website leads down 11.7% YoY; Google Business Profile interactions down 10%. Two trades retail brands (electrical and plumbing): organic web leads down 24% and 44% YoY respectively. A third trades brand (HVAC): organic web leads up 7% YoY — proof that recovery is possible with the right execution. These gaps are recoverable. The discrepancies across brands point to execution and infrastructure issues, not market conditions. This role exists to find and close them.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years in local SEO with a track record of improving organic lead performance for multi-location or franchise brands
  • Direct experience auditing and optimizing Google Business Profiles at scale — 50+ locations minimum
  • Familiarity with AI-driven search and AEO fundamentals — structured data, FAQ schema, citation signals
  • Proficiency with local SEO tools such as Local Falcon, BrightLocal, WebPunch, or equivalent
  • Technical SEO competency — schema markup, Core Web Vitals, mobile indexation, page speed
  • Detail-oriented and systematic — able to manage multiple locations and workstreams simultaneously without dropping detail
  • Able to identify critical issues and start addressing them in week one — without being told where to look

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a full SEO audit across all priority retail locations and franchise markets — schema markup, indexation, page speed, mobile performance, and GBP completeness — identifying the highest-impact opportunities first
  • Identify and fix critical technical issues in the first two weeks — schema markup, broken links, GBP inaccuracies, and mobile indexation problems
  • Optimize Google Business Profiles across all priority locations — categories, photos, services, hours, booking links, and NAP consistency
  • Align GBP profiles with Local Service Ad accounts to ensure local search signals support paid local ad performance
  • Build location-specific service pages for priority markets to improve local search rankings for high-intent keywords
  • Build Areas We Serve pages with structured FAQ content across priority markets
  • Establish AEO foundations — structured data, FAQ formats, and citation signals for visibility in AI-driven search including Gemini, ChatGPT, and Google AI Overviews
  • Address mobile search performance — mobile accounts for the majority of organic search across these brands and is underperforming
  • Support navigation refactor and expansion of the corporate resource center as SEO work progresses
  • Use tools like Local Falcon and GBP performance data to identify underperforming locations and track recovery progress
  • Assess review volume and recency across all locations and make actionable recommendations
