Senior Loan Workout Specialist
About The Position
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Loan Workout Specialist on the Litigation, Bankruptcy, and Recovery team within Commercial Banking Operations. In this role, you will lead a large portfolio of complex problem loans, contributing to initiatives and deliverables within the Loan Workout functional area. You will also be involved in large-scale planning related to strategy, technology, and efficiency deliverables, ensuring loans are structured and priced consistently with Bank policy and commensurate with risk. This position requires reviewing and researching complex problem loan challenges, strategizing and implementing account development, and negotiating creative structures to meet customer and bank needs while minimizing risk exposure. You will resolve complex issues, lead the Loan Workout team to meet functional area projects, processes, and deliverables, and leverage a solid understanding of functions, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Collaboration with peers, colleagues, and managers is essential for issue resolution and goal achievement. You will also work with in-house and outside counsel during litigation, lead team projects, and mentor less experienced staff.
Requirements
- 4+ years of Loan Workout, Commercial Lending experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Ability to interpret and comprehend complex legal documents
- Experience conducting research and determining resolution for title and collateral perfection issues
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience resolving and working through escalated and complex customer issues
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Ability to manage a pipeline of work from assignment to completion
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Nice To Haves
- 1+ years of collections experience
- 1+ years of commercial banking experience
- Experience in equipment finance and leasing
- Experience coaching, mentoring, and training
- Strong attention to detail, including accuracy in grammar and a sharp focus on eliminating errors
- Experience interacting positively with difficult or irate customers
Responsibilities
- Lead large portfolio of complex problem loans in initiatives and deliverables within the Loan Workout functional area
