About The Position

The Senior Loan Officer - Mortgage is responsible for selling the Bank's loan products and those of approved investors or lenders. This role involves developing new business and business sources both within and outside the Bank's Branch network, and strengthening awareness of the Bank, its history, and its services among customers, potential customers, and referral sources. The position requires adherence to all applicable Bank policies, procedures, federal, state, and local laws, including those governing rate quotes, rate locking, and fee collection. All loans must be priced according to the Bank of Hope-provided price sheet, and all applicable fees must be collected unless a waiver is approved in writing by the Branch or Regional Manager. The Senior Mortgage Loan Officer must use only the data systems provided by the Bank for loan processing, data capture, and business record generation.

Requirements

  • Must register in NMLS (Mortgage Loan Officer Full Name) and remain registered throughout the period he or she works for the Bank.
  • Must fully educate himself or herself on all applicable Bank policies and procedures and must strictly adhere to all such policies and procedures.
  • Must ensure full compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws.
  • All loans must be priced in accordance with the Bank of Hope-provided price sheet in effect at the time the Mortgage Loan Officer locks the loan.
  • Must timely collect all applicable fees as set forth in the Bank of Hope Corporate Fee Sheet then in effect.
  • May not waive any applicable fees without the prior written approval of [Branch or Regional Manager].
  • Must use only those data systems provided and used by the Bank; including but not limited to the loan origination system, prescribed automated underwriting systems (if applicable), and payroll and accounting systems.
  • May not use any other program or system without the prior written consent of Executive Vice President –Mortgage Lending.

Responsibilities

  • Sale of the Bank’s loan products and the loan products of Bank-approved investors or lenders.
  • Development of new business and business sources for the Bank through its Branch network and marketing efforts.
  • Development of new business and business sources for the Bank outside its Branch network.
  • Strengthening of an awareness of the Bank, its history and its services in customers and potential customers and in referral sources.
  • Register in NMLS and remain registered throughout employment.
  • Secure loans only through the Bank or Bank-approved investors or lenders.
  • Fully educate oneself on all applicable Bank policies and procedures and strictly adhere to them.
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws.
  • Price all loans in accordance with the Bank of Hope-provided price sheet.
  • Timely collect all applicable fees as set forth in the Bank of Hope Corporate Fee Sheet.
  • Collect Application Fees, Appraisal Fees, Corporate Fees, and Administrative Fees.
  • Use only Bank-provided data systems for loan processing, data capture, and business record generation.
