About The Position

Since 1991, Ascendus has provided more than $400 million to more than 55,000 small business owners across the country. The Senior Loan Consultant in NY will report to the Director of Lending and will be responsible for meeting individual lending, technical assistance, and business development goals.

Requirements

  • Bilingual-English/Spanish required.
  • Three years’ experience working in a small business.
  • Good presentation and math skills.
  • Knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Believes in our organizational values.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration is preferred.
  • Portuguese a plus.
  • Prior business experience/sales skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Expand the visibility of Ascendus in the community, build strong partnerships, and strengthen image.
  • Manage relationships with local banks and community partners, follow-up with partners that refer within 48 business hours, identify new partners and opportunities in key areas, leverage clients as “referral partners” and track them accordingly.
  • Provide high level of engagement in workshops, seminars, and panels in cooperation with local community organizations.
  • Track outreach performance and increase visibility of the organization across the region exploring new banking and community partner relationships - at least 3 High Priority Partners by end of the year (targeting 30% conversion ratio).
  • Provide Technical Assistance covering Credit Analysis (pulling and reviewing credit reports), Cash Flow Analysis (reviewing bank statements), General Biz Coaching (discussing changes in Biz Model), supporting clients to complete Annual Survey, and Portfolio Delinquency Management (referring delinquent clients to Payment Support Department).
  • Successfully disburse the monthly number of loans assigned in a timely manner.
  • Ensure excellent customer service by following up with client calls, applications, and emails within 24 business hours.
  • Document interaction with the customer by entering notes in our CRM system.
  • Withdraw inactive/unresponsive applications by 30 days of pulling credit after completing 3 courtesy calls/emails.
