About The Position

Marks, O’Neill, O’Brien, Doherty & Kelly (“MOODK”) is a mid-sized, regional firm specializing in general liability, professional liability, and toxic tort litigation matters. We have offices located in PA, NJ, NY, DE, and MD. We are seeking experienced attorneys to join our team in the Tarrytown, NY office. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary, benefit package, and flexible work environment. Requirements

  • At least 10 years of litigation experience.
  • Current and active NY Bar membership in good standing.
  • Experience drafting discovery, taking lead on depositions and arguing motions is required.
  • Superior written and oral communications skills.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in LexisNexis/Lexis software.
  • Familiarity with Case/File Management systems.
  • Knowledge of federal and state rules of civil procedures is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • The ability to track billable hours is strongly preferred.
  • Strong preference given to those with a background in General Liability or/or Labor and Employment Law.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in all phases of litigation from initiation to expert discovery in matters involving professional liability or labor and employment.
  • Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions and case management conferences.
  • Conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations.
  • Draft discovery requests and responses, motions, case evaluation summaries, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
  • Review discovery responses, depositions and prepare summaries and litigation update reports.
  • Negotiate with opposing counsel to settle claims.
  • Communicate closely with clients during the course of litigation to provide legal analysis, status reports and advice.
