Senior Linux Systems Engineer
About The Position
Join Hitachi Energy as an Energy Systems Integration Engineer to help shape the digital backbone of tomorrow’s energy markets. This role is based in Santa Clara, CA or Houston, TX, and is part of a global team focused on transforming how energy is managed, distributed, and optimized. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience in years
- 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration and automation
- Proficiency with Ansible, Python, and shell scripting
- Experience with Oracle databases and enterprise software environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain large-scale Linux-based EMMS environments
- Automate system configuration and deployment using Ansible and scripting tools
- Optimize system performance and reliability through OS and database tuning
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the software stack
- Support system testing including Factory and Site Acceptance Tests
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions
- Contribute to continuous improvement of system processes and automation
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines
