About The Position

Information Systems Solutions (ISS) is seeking a Senior Linux System Engineer to help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. This role involves reviewing, analyzing, and providing Tier III support for patches and updates, including testing the baseline in the Engineering Operations Facility (EOF) prior to release to the RCCs. This position is 100% onsite.

Requirements

Secret Clearance Level
One of the following certifications (IAT Level III): CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience required. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
VMWare management/administration experience.
Thorough experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu or a derivative.
Knowledge of Windows and Linux Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and current DISA’s hardening protocol.
Experienced in systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and engineering.

Responsibilities

Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems.
Develops Enterprise Technical Procedures (ETPs) with directions to apply patches, upgrades, and security configurations/updates to the baseline system in the EOF for testing IAW with the STIGs.
Ensures that already-provisioned Linux systems are kept in compliance with baseline requirements and ever-changing enterprise policy (e.g., equivalent to Group Policy in the Windows realm for ongoing compliance updates).
Monitors all solutions integrated via a centralized alerting system.
Develops an operating system lifecycle plan with integration of DoW STIGs and other recommended security standards.
