About The Position

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Chip System Software team. The team develops Linux platform software for next-generation AI-RAN and Software-Defined RAN (SD-RAN) solutions, delivering production-ready software that integrates NVIDIA technologies with enterprise Linux distributions such as Canonical Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the Linux software platform that powers NVIDIA AI-RAN and AI products. You will work across the complete software stack, including Linux distribution integration, software packaging, kernel and BSP validation, release engineering, and platform enablement. Working closely with Canonical, Red Hat, silicon vendors, and internal engineering teams, you will help deliver secure, reliable, and customer-ready software releases!

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of experience developing Linux system software or platform software.
  • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems, kernel architecture, and system internals!
  • Experience with Linux package management (Debian/Ubuntu and/or RPM), software integration, and release engineering.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and software build systems.
  • Experience debugging Linux kernel, boot, driver, or platform-related issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Canonical Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), or other enterprise Linux distributions.
  • Experience with Linux kernel configuration, BSP integration, or commercial SoC platforms.
  • Experience working with hardware and software co-development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain customer-ready Linux distributions, installation images (ISO), and software packages.
  • Integrate NVIDIA software, drivers, and third-party components into Canonical Ubuntu and RHEL platforms.
  • Develop and maintain build automation, CI/CD pipelines, and software release processes.
  • Configure, integrate, and validate Linux kernels and BSPs for commercial SoC platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Linux platform, kernel, driver, and software integration issues.
  • Collaborate with Canonical, Red Hat, silicon vendors, and internal engineering teams to enable new platform capabilities.
