About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Engineer to join our technology team. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, optimization, and support of enterprise Linux environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Linux operating systems, automation, infrastructure management, security, performance tuning, and troubleshooting within complex production environments.

Requirements

  • 4 + years of Linux systems administration and engineering experience.
  • Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and other Linux distributions.
  • Expertise in shell scripting and automation tools.
  • Experience with configuration management platforms such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and firewalls.
  • Experience with VMware, containers, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of system monitoring tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, or SolarWinds.
  • Experience implementing security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or related Linux certification.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Financial services, healthcare, or highly regulated industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Linux server infrastructure.
  • Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, or similar distributions.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal operation.
  • Automate system administration tasks using Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools.
  • Manage server patching, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Troubleshoot complex operating system, application, networking, and infrastructure issues.
  • Support virtualization platforms such as VMware and cloud environments including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Implement and maintain security controls, hardening standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Manage storage solutions, file systems, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Collaborate with application, database, security, and network teams to support business-critical systems.
  • Participate in on-call support and incident response activities.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operating procedures.
