About The Position

The Infrastructure Platform Engineering team designs, builds, and supports the Linux and cloud platforms that power critical business services across the organization. We work closely with application, security, and architecture teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure. Operating within Agile and DevSecOps ways of working, the team focuses on automation, standardization, and a cloud-first strategy. Our role is to balance innovation with the high reliability and compliance standards required in a regulated financial services environment. As a Senior Engineer, you will be a hands-on technical contributor responsible for building, operating, and continually improving Linux-based infrastructure platforms. You will apply strong engineering judgment to implement Infrastructure as Code, automation, and cloud-native practices. This role requires deep technical expertise, the ability to resolve complex, non-routine issues independently, and close collaboration with delivery teams. You will exercise independent judgment on technical decisions and clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, while providing informal technical guidance to peers.

Requirements

  • Strong enterprise-level experience administering and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools (Puppet, Git, Packer; Ansible and Terraform preferred).
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipeline tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab).
  • Experience working in hybrid environments, with solid exposure to AWS infrastructure and services.
  • Practical experience deploying, patching, and maintaining Linux servers and/or containers using native tooling (e.g., Red Hat Satellite).
  • Familiarity with container technologies and cloud-based SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS platforms.
  • Working knowledge of security and identity platforms, including Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions such as the Delinea Cloud Suite and how they integrate with infrastructure platforms.
  • Experience designing and supporting Linux workloads running on VMware, Nutanix, or equivalent virtualised environments.
  • Familiarity with enterprise logging, monitoring, and observability platforms such as Splunk.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering and supporting Unix/Linux platforms across on-premises and cloud environments using DevOps principles, with minimal supervision.
  • Building, maintaining, and enhancing Infrastructure as Code solutions using tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, and Git.
  • Acting as a Unix/Linux subject matter expert within Agile delivery squads, helping shape technical approaches and resolving non-routine platform challenges.
  • Developing and maintaining automation using modern scripting and tooling languages (e.g., Go, TypeScript) to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
  • Collaborating with application, cloud, and security teams to design and implement secure, reliable, and scalable Linux-based solutions.
  • Ensuring systems are configured in line with security, regulatory, audit, and operational resilience requirements.
  • Troubleshooting complex platform and infrastructure issues that impact business-critical services.
  • Leading small technical initiatives or workstreams with manageable risk, contributing to platform standards, best practices, and continuous improvement.
