Our Senior Cooks are experienced professionals who have developed their skills in fine dining and event kitchens. They are highly organized and thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Senior Cooks are expected to lead their station with confidence, give clear instructions, and work independently while following direction from the Sous Chef and Executive Chef. With exceptional attention to detail, they play a key role in mentoring junior cooks and effectively troubleshooting any issues that arise during service.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced, high-volume event or restaurant environment
  • Strong understanding of professional cooking techniques and knife handling skills
  • Ability to take direction, work efficiently, and remain calm under pressure
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods (100% of shift)
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary diploma or degree
  • Valid Food Handler Certification

Responsibilities

  • Cooking for exclusive events, private parties, and corporate functions.
  • Preparing and organizing stations according to Oliver & Bonacini (O&B) standards.
  • Following recipes, portion controls, and plating specifications with precision and consistency.
  • Maintaining a clear and accurate prep list for station duties.
  • Applying the FIFO (First In, First Out) method to ensure product freshness and reduce waste.
  • Assisting with receiving and properly storing deliveries.
  • Ensuring food prep areas, tools, and equipment meet the highest sanitation and food safety standards.
  • Strictly adhering to WHMIS guidelines.
  • Taking on additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Mentoring junior cooks.
  • Troubleshooting issues during service.
