About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Liquor and Cannabis (Manager), the Senior Legislative and Policy Analyst is responsible for leading the research and development of liquor and cannabis policy and legislative initiatives to address the priorities and strategic direction of the department, to align with the government mandate, and ensuring that the internal and external consultation occurs with stakeholders throughout the development and implementation process. The Senior Legislative and Policy Analyst prepares key documents such as Cabinet submissions, reports, directives, legislative proposals and discussion papers, in addition to departmental responses, recommendations and briefing notes as required to support Senior Managers, Assistant Deputy Ministers, the Deputy Minister and Minister’s Office. Through the strategic/business planning process, the position has an impact on the short and long-term direction of the department. The position works independently and in a team environment to manage, support and coordinate the policy and legislation review/development/implementation process for liquor and cannabis matters within the department.

Requirements

  • Experience in policy and legislative development.

Responsibilities
