About The Position

Success Academy Charter Schools is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its highly collaborative Advisory Legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative, dedicated attorney to grow and develop as an in-house generalist while contributing to a mission-driven organization committed to delivering excellent public education and supporting the growth and flourishing of its employees. Requirements

J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school (or equivalent).
Licensed to practice in at least one U.S. state, with admission to the New York Bar or eligibility for in-house qualification in New York.
At least six + years of legal experience, including in-house at a fast-paced company, nonprofit, and/or BigLaw.

Responsibilities

Advise on legal questions touching all aspects of our operations, including expansion, compliance, charter management, and our day-to-day operations.
Manage regulatory reporting to authorizers and government agencies.
Support advocacy and lobbying efforts.
Draft, review, and negotiate agreements, using pragmatic business judgment and making appropriate risk determinations.
Advise on data privacy issues.
Conduct legal research and writing.
