About The Position

The University of Wisconsin-Superior is seeking a Senior Lecturer of Chemistry for a part-time, fixed-term position. This role involves facilitating classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction, assisting with instructional development and design, and serving as an instructor of record for chemistry courses. The appointment is for the Fall semester, with potential for 1-3 vacancies. The position is part-time, ranging from 20-60% appointment.

Requirements

Master of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
Evidence of ability to teach and work with students
Candidates must be independently, legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain their work authorization without the support or help of UW-Superior throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

At least one semester of college laboratory teaching experience.

Responsibilities

Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
Teach one to three laboratory sections of General Chemistry I, a required course for science majors.
Facilitate laboratory instruction and assist with the instructional development for the course to support the delivery of quality instruction.
Provide for-credit instruction in a laboratory setting, including grading.
Serves as an instructor of record.
Complete required trainings and professional development as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
