This is an onsite role based out of our Downtown Los Angeles, CA location. About you As the Senior Lease Accountant, you are a seasoned property accounting professional ready to take your career to the next step, working with a national portfolio. You thrive on working within deadlines and providing strong financial reporting for your assigned properties. You identify issues, provide strong analysis on monthly reports and continually seek opportunities for process improvements. You also thrive on sharing your knowledge and participate in training for new accountants.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience; degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Commercial property management accounting experience required.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, CAM reconciliations, and tenant billing.
  • Proficiency with Yardi Voyager, AvidXchange, Angus, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
  • Third-party property management experience.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • California Department of Real Estate Salesperson License, or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • The employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

Responsibilities

  • Complete monthly financial reporting and assist with audit processes.
  • Coordinate the onboarding and integration of new properties into the accounting workflow.
  • Oversee property accounting activities to ensure accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and ownership reports.
  • Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts in partnership with Ownership, Property Management, Engineering, and Leasing teams.
  • Manage tenant billing, accounts receivable, CAM reconciliations, and real estate tax estimates.
  • Support leasing activities, including commission calculations and lease financial analysis.
  • Maintain lease data, abstracts, commencement notices, and related documentation in Yardi Voyager.
  • Ensure all accounting deadlines, scheduled check runs, and reporting requirements are met.
