About The Position

WeWork is seeking a Senior Lead, Payroll, Travel & Expense to coordinate payroll processing for the US and other select countries (Canada, EMEA, APAC) within a managed payroll operating model. This role involves liaising with internal People partners and payroll providers to ensure accurate data submission and reconciliation. For Travel and Expense, the Senior Lead will work closely with Finance Global Business Services, Expense Accounting, Business Operations, and outsourced providers to ensure a deep understanding of corporate card and expense reporting policies and processes. The role also includes coordinating the management of the credit card program with credit partners. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, resourceful, analytical, motivated, and eager to implement new processes, best practices, and maintain a strong control environment while balancing multiple deliverables and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 4-6+ years of work experience in Payroll and/or T&E
  • Solid functional knowledge, commensurate with level, including understanding of payroll processes and regulations.
  • Highly innovative problem solver: possessing strong interpersonal skills, multi-tasking, organizational, and project planning skills, and demonstrating ability to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical skills that enable the candidate to recognize and resolve problems.
  • Capable of working independently, as a member of an internal team, and in partnership with vendors.
  • Fast learner who adapts well to a dynamic environment, able to prioritize work to meet deadlines, combines creativity, problem-solving skills, and a can-do attitude to deliver effective results.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Manager and team members with coordinating the bi-weekly payrolls for US & other countries, including review of inputs and outputs for reasonableness and completeness.
  • Participate in discussions with the People team and vendors regarding payrolls to ensure proper handling of issues and use of controls to mitigate risk.
  • Reconcile payrolls in accordance with established procedures and controls.
  • Address inquiries from various internal teams, such as People, Business teams and external partners.
  • Assist the Compensation Accounting team with queries regarding payroll accounting.
  • Assist with other BAU activities, Firm initiatives and projects, as needed.
  • Collaborate with vendors to complete tasks in accordance with agreed upon roles and responsibilities.
  • Comply with and perform SOX and audit procedures in completing key responsibilities.
  • Manage all aspects of the Corporate Card Administration (processing applications, managing credit limits, cancellations, payments and reconciliations).
