About The Position

Data and information are central to UniSC’s strategy, performance and impact. The Insights and Analytics Unit plays a central role in enabling the University to use data and insights to inform decision-making, support sustainable growth, and strengthen outcomes for students, staff and the broader community. Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, the Senior Lead, Data Analytics is a senior leadership role within the Insights and Analytics Unit (IAU), responsible for delivering UniSC’s enterprise data analytics roadmap while providing hands-on leadership to modernise analytics capabilities, uplift the University’s enterprise data warehouse and reporting environments, and strengthen data products and ways of working across the University. You will operate in a highly collaborative, distributed environment, working closely with executive leaders, academic and professional teams, and technology specialists to embed an insight-driven culture and ensure data is leveraged responsibly, effectively and at scale.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with modern data analytics and business intelligence technologies, particularly within the Microsoft analytics ecosystem.
  • Proven capability leading large, complex, technology-enabled programs or portfolios of work.
  • Strong expertise in designing data warehouses and delivering high-quality dashboards, reports and analytics products that meet real user needs.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and lead through collaboration.
  • Experience applying contemporary analytics and data practices in complex organisations, ideally within higher education or similarly nuanced environments.
  • A proactive, innovative approach to problem-solving and leading change at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of UniSC’s enterprise data analytics roadmap, translating strategy into a prioritised, value‑driven program of work.
  • Oversee the end-to-end design and delivery of modern analytics solutions, including scalable enterprise data platforms and integrated reporting, from data ingestion through to dashboards, reports and advanced insights.
  • Partner with executive and senior stakeholders to embed an insight‑driven culture and deliver analytics that support key strategic and operational decisions.
  • Lead and develop specialist analytics teams, while championing strong data governance, privacy and information management practices.
