About The Position

Data and information are critical strategic assets that underpin informed decision-making, institutional performance, compliance, and long-term sustainability at UniSC. Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, the Senior Lead, Data Analytics is a senior leadership role within the Insights and Analytics Unit (IAU), responsible for leading the strategic and technical evolution of UniSC’s enterprise data and analytics capability. This role will drive the continuous enhancement of enterprise data platforms, analytics environments, and modern data practices to maximise the value of institutional data assets and strengthen evidence-informed decision-making across the University. You will provide leadership across enterprise data warehousing, analytics, business intelligence, data integration, and modern cloud-based analytics platforms, while fostering an insight-driven culture that enables better strategic and operational outcomes. Working closely with executive leaders, academic and professional staff, and technology specialists, you will play a key role in shaping UniSC’s future analytics ecosystem and advancing organisational data maturity.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience leading enterprise data and analytics functions within large and complex organisations.
  • Strong technical expertise across enterprise data warehousing, data integration, data modelling, business intelligence, cloud-based analytics platforms, and modern data architectures, particularly within the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the strategic uplift and optimisation of enterprise data platforms, and analytics environments.
  • Proven capability delivering scalable analytics solutions, dashboards, reporting environments, and self-service analytics capability that support organisational decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary data governance, privacy, information management, and trusted data practices.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills, with experience working effectively at executive level.
  • A track record of leading organisational change, innovation, and capability uplift in data-driven environments.
  • An understanding of emerging trends in AI, automation, and advanced analytics, and their application within enterprise environments.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications or an equivalent combination of extensive experience, knowledge, and leadership capability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the continuous enhancement of UniSC's enterprise data and analytics capability, ensuring trusted, scalable, and accessible information supports strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Drive the evolution and optimisation of enterprise data platforms, including data warehouse, data lake, analytics, reporting and business intelligence environments.
  • Lead the design and implementation of modern analytics architectures, data models, and integration capabilities that enable sustainable and scalable analytics services.
  • Partner with executive and senior stakeholders to embed evidence-informed decision-making and strengthen organisational analytics maturity.
  • Lead and develop specialist teams of data engineers, developers, and business intelligence professionals while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate and leverage emerging technologies, including AI and automation, to enhance analytics capability and organisational outcomes.
