About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Commercial Banking Relationship Manager to join our Commercial Auto business. In this role, you will develop, retain, and grow complex to highly complex client relationships through relationship management, understanding client needs, responding quickly, communicating proactively, managing expectations, and soliciting feedback. You will act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop, influence, or lead the structuring, modification, and renewal of highly complex loans and other industry-specific solutions. You will lead the strategy and resolution for a full suite of highly complex solutions offered by Wells Fargo to commercial clients, engaging product organizations to develop client-specific solutions and leveraging a solid understanding of clients’ businesses. You will provide vision, direction, and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions within the Commercial Banking Relationship Management group. You will strategically engage with all levels across the enterprise to improve processes and risk control, resolve client issues, and represent the company externally. You will drive relationship planning activities to deliver the full suite of solutions and maintain sales and pipeline disciplines. You will source and originate new commercial banking relationships by proactively identifying, prospecting, and closing opportunities with middle-market and mid-corporate companies. You will partner with Commercial Lending Product Management to provide vision, direction, and expertise to leadership on client and market needs to enable the innovation, design, and delivery of credit solutions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Commercial Banking Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. In addition, state registration, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply.
  • Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire.
  • Obtaining FINRA Series 63 and Series 79, or equivalent must be completed within 180-days of date of hire if not immediately available to transfer upon hire.
  • Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory

Nice To Haves

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of core banking products and services, such as commercial lending and treasury management
  • Syndication and investment banking product experience
  • Demonstrated experience generating new client relationships, building and retaining long-term client relationships with revenues of $100MM+
  • Successful collaboration with internal product partners (Treasury Management, Wealth Management, Corporate Investment Banking, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, retain, and grow complex to highly complex client relationships through the art of relationship management, by understanding the needs and priorities of clients and financial decision makers, responding quickly, communicating proactively but strategically, managing expectations, and soliciting feedback; act as an advisor to guide and influence others in growing relationships
  • Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop, influence, or lead the structuring, modification, and renewal of highly complex cash flow, real estate loans, and certain other industry specific solutions across groups and functions by analyzing financials, presenting to clients, and coordinating with internal stakeholders
  • Lead the strategy and resolution for full suite of highly complex solutions offered by Wells Fargo to commercial clients to meet highly complex and unique needs that require an in-depth evaluation across multiple areas of the enterprise, by engaging product organizations to develop client specific solutions, leveraging a solid understanding of clients’ businesses, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions
  • Provide vision, direction, and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions within the Commercial Banking Relationship Management group that are cross functional and companywide strategies
  • Strategically engage with all levels across the enterprise to improve processes and risk control, resolve client issues while achieving Wells Fargo’s business objectives, and represent the company externally; serve as an expert advisor to leadership and a mentor for less experienced colleagues
  • Drive relationship planning activities to deliver the full suite of solutions and maintain sales and pipeline disciplines by keeping information current in relevant systems
  • Source and originate new commercial banking relationships by proactively identifying, prospecting, and closing opportunities with middle-market and mid-corporate companies—leveraging referral networks, centers of influence, and industry contacts to drive new loan, deposit, fee and treasury management revenue
  • Partner with Commercial Lending Product Management to provide vision, direction, and expertise to leadership on client and market needs to enable the innovation, design, and delivery of credit solutions more effectively, including large-scale, cross-functional, or company-wide strategies
