About The Position

This role involves managing a varied caseload of litigation and occupational disease and casualty claims. The lawyer will work across asbestos-related disease, mesothelioma, occupational cancers, respiratory disease, noise-induced hearing loss, stress and harassment claims. The position also handles Employers’ Liability and Public Liability matters, along with complex and emerging risk litigation. Responsibilities include assessing liability, causation and quantum, drafting pleadings and legal advice, preparing witness evidence, and instructing counsel and experts. The role also requires negotiating settlements, participating in mediations, and building strong relationships with key insurers and corporate clients.

Requirements

Senior Associate with experience in defendant or plaintiff personal injury, insurance or casualty litigation
Strong technical, analytical and drafting skills
Ability to confidently manage litigated matters
Excellent communication and client management skills
Ability to operate effectively in a busy litigation practice

Nice To Haves

A background in disease litigation or public liability claims will be highly regarded
Genuine interest in developing specialist expertise within occupational disease and complex causality litigation
