About The Position

We are ChiroCat, a company that builds cloud-based chiropractic software for practices across the United States. Our system supports doctors and their staff from initial patient interactions to insurance processing and post-visit communication, modernizing the chiropractic software space and improving the lives of caregivers, their teams, and patients. Our purpose is to empower caregivers to transform lives through tools they trust, believing practice management should be human-centric. We are looking for an experienced and savvy engineer to join our close-knit engineering team to help build what's next. This role requires experience building a multi-tenant SaaS product in Laravel and working with AWS infrastructure. Experience with medical software is a plus but not required.

Requirements

At least 4+ years of PHP/Laravel experience
Experience developing across the entire stack from front to back
Deep working knowledge of data, in multiple formats, ETL, relational databases and SQL.
Located between the Pacific and Eastern timezones.
Deep expertise in the Laravel PHP framework, including its core components, architecture, and established best practices for building robust applications.
Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing. Communicate early, clearly, and with care, and lean in when things feel unclear rather than letting them fester.
Proficient in database management, particularly with SQL databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization.
Love to write clean, maintainable, efficient and testable PHP code. Code is easy for other programmers and your future self to understand and use.
Understanding of algorithms and data structures beyond arrays and "for loops".
Plenty of war stories to tell about the last time you launched a SaaS application, or weathered a massive spike in load, or recovered from an outage.
Excellent debugging skills. Know how to find problems, and how to architect apps so that problems are discoverable in the first place.
Solid experience with frontend technologies and Javascript frameworks.
Proven ability in designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs, along with an understanding of API security principles.
Obsessive about the details, while being pragmatic and big-picture focused.
A problem solver and puzzler at heart. Dive into the depths of a customer's need and translate that into a working solution.
