About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Landscape Designer to lead residential design-build projects, with a strong focus on client-facing sales and closing high-value outdoor living projects. This role operates within a design-build landscape company and carries full ownership of project generation—from initial client consultation through design, presentation, and closing. The position is critical to driving revenue by creating and converting design opportunities into sold work that feeds installation crews. This is not a pure design role; it is a hybrid design + sales leadership position focused on production, client engagement, and backlog creation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in residential landscape design or design-build environments
  • Proven experience selling and closing landscape or outdoor living projects
  • Demonstrated success working on high-end residential or estate-level projects
  • Proficiency in landscape design software with 3D modeling capabilities
  • Strong client-facing experience, including presentations and proposal delivery
  • Ability to own full project lifecycle from concept through close (not just design support)
  • Comfortable being measured on revenue production and backlog generation
  • Residential design-build experience required (commercial-only experience will not be sufficient)

Responsibilities

  • Meet directly with homeowners and estate clients to understand project goals, budget, and vision
  • Develop landscape concepts, layouts, and detailed designs for residential outdoor environments
  • Build and present 3D models and visual presentations to communicate design intent
  • Lead client presentations and confidently sell design-build solutions
  • Close residential landscape projects, typically ranging from $50K–$100K+ in value
  • Generate consistent backlog for installation crews by converting design opportunities into sold work
  • Manage multiple active client opportunities simultaneously while maintaining responsiveness and professionalism
  • Collaborate with internal field and installation teams to ensure designs align with execution capabilities
  • Contribute to improving design processes, client experience, and overall sales performance
  • Support or lead the design/sales function as the team scales, depending on experience level
