About The Position

We’re seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to join our growing team in Markham/Kitchener with flexible hybrid options. This is a chance to take on career-defining projects, lead multidisciplinary teams, and make a tangible impact on how communities live, move, and thrive. This is a new role within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture (or related field).
  • Minimum 6+ years of progressive experience in landscape architecture and/or urban design.
  • Licensed OALA Landscape Architect with Seal and Certificate.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with experience preparing compelling reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Collaborative, creative, and motivated by sustainability, innovation, and design excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP an asset.
  • Exposure to AutoCAD, Microstation, Civil 3D, Revit considered a plus.
  • Strong track record in public realm projects (municipal squares, campuses, transit corridors, parks, conservation areas).
  • 15+ years of relevant experience will be prefered
  • Ability to balance big-picture thinking with technical detail.
  • Strong client presence, with the ability to inspire confidence and foster trust.
  • Desire to mentor junior staff and contribute to a studio culture of creativity and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from concept through completion – site analysis, concept/schematic design, detailed design, construction documentation, and contract administration.
  • Manage scope, budgets, schedules, and client expectations on civic buildings, institutional sites, plazas, streetscapes, trails, parks, and open spaces.
  • Collaborate across disciplines (landscape, urban design, architecture, planning, transportation, ecology, engineering) to deliver coordinated, high-impact outcomes.
  • Champion sustainable and resilient design, with a focus on ecological restoration, climate adaptation, and innovation in public realm projects.
  • Develop innovative solutions and details for complex multi-disciplinary contexts, often in collaboration with other architectural, engineering and environmental disciplines.
  • Engage clients and stakeholders, lead presentations and workshops, and develop strong long-term relationships.
  • Contribute to practice growth, including proposals, business development, and marketing initiatives.
