About The Position

LaBella is seeking a full-time Senior Landscape Architect, located in Albany, to engage with public and private market sector clients, focused on executing LaBella's business plan for our Eastern Region. This position will positively reinforce, promote and expand our brand of Landscape Architecture within and outside of the Capital District while complementing our teams in other LaBella geographies - including Rochester, NY, Charlotte, NC and Chattanooga, TN.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Landscape Architecture.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a consulting environment.
  • Certification as a Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) in NY.
  • A comprehensive understanding of site consultation and navigating through regulatory approvals and processes.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in technical writing.
  • Evidence of prior management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Identify opportunities - target client and teaming partners for market-based initiatives.
  • Participate in business planning with Discipline Leader.
  • Assist and participate in growth planning efforts for urban design services.
  • Actively participate in branding process for LaBella Landscape Architecture.
  • Lead preparation of key proposals.
  • Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients.
  • Collaborate with Team, Regional and Discipline Leaders to manage and direct work.
  • Conduct regular check-in meetings with Landscape Architecture Disciple Leader.
  • Monitor and report on project schedule, financial goals and resources.
  • Work with Discipline Leaders to build backlog for landscape architecture, fostering opportunity for hiring production level staff.
  • Coaching, mentoring and teaching staff.
  • Production: Serve as client and/or project manager for single and multi-discipline project types.
  • Serve as landscape architecture technical lead for significant projects.
  • Assist with integration of LA services with planning and architecture disciplines.
  • Support existing landscape architects in Albany and beyond, on project to project basis.
  • Provide design peer review for Civil Division projects as assigned.
  • Maintain a target utilization goal set by Discipline Leader.
