About The Position

The Senior Land Acquisition Analyst supports the Land Acquisition team with all aspects of land acquisition, from identifying potential land prospects to closing land transactions. This role involves preparing financial proformas, conducting market feasibility analyses, reviewing due diligence, and monitoring market activity. The analyst will also assist in preparing land packages for committee approval, maintaining databases of acquisition targets, and contributing to the annual Land Acquisition Strategy.

Requirements

Highly organized with the ability to manage and prioritize workload.
Proficient in MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Proven ability to multi-task.
Strong desire to work in land acquisition.
Ability to analyze, interpret, summarize, and report data.
Dependable, self-motivated, and proactive.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to GIS, Metrostudy, LandVision, and Zonda.
A background in real estate or market research is desirable.
Professional knowledge of the home-building and land brokerage industry is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare financial proformas and competitive market analyses to determine the viability of proposed land acquisitions.
Coordinate with entitlement and development teams and consultants to determine budgets and schedules for proformas.
Understand home construction costs and buyer preferences to incorporate into proformas.
Review and analyze due diligence information for potential land investments.
Extract and analyze data from various sources including MLS, company databases, Metrostudy, LandVision, Zonda, and other external websites.
Prepare pre-acquisition investment summaries and related support material.
Maintain financial proformas and competition analyses post-acquisition to assess performance enhancement and report actual performance.
Prepare detailed proformas and land packages with relevant support data for submittal to the Corporate Land Committee for approval.
Prepare follow-up analysis and forms necessary to transact acquisitions.
Actively research, analyze, and identify potential land acquisition targets using mapping and market data software based on defined market priorities.
Maintain a database and prepare reports identifying acquisition targets and tracking their status.
Perform preliminary feasibility/financial analysis on identified acquisition targets and present weekly updates and recommendations.
Monitor weekly land transaction and entitlement activity in core markets, providing summary updates of notable activities.
Assist Land Acquisition leadership with ad hoc projects.
Assist the Land Acquisition team in preparing the annual Land Acquisition Strategy.
Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
