About The Position

Perform various microbial analyses of environmental air and water samples in accordance with standard EPA/ASTM methods and in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements. This role involves the identification and enumeration of fungal spores utilizing light microscopy, microbial analysis of environmental water samples, and generating reports of sample results. The technician will also be responsible for daily/weekly laboratory housekeeping duties and reviewing/approving results of analysis.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in the sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, etc.)
At least 3 years’ experience working in a lab environment or applicable experience from education
Light Microscopy
Basic Laboratory Safety
Aseptic Techniques
Basic Microbiology: incubation/culture methods
Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must.

Responsibilities

Carry out all duties in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017
Identification and enumeration of fungal spores utilizing light microscopy.
Microbial analysis of environmental water samples
Execute all standard operating procedures for the analysis of field samples.
Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on laboratory equipment.
Carry out daily/weekly laboratory housekeeping duties
Use necessary software to manage data generated from field samples.
Adhere to all established health and safety guidelines and safe laboratory practices.
Generate reports of sample results and forward to relevant parties.
