About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Senior Labor Accountant to join our team. This role requires a heavy focus on complex, labor-intensive payroll exercises, demanding exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to manage high-volume, multi-frequency payroll cycles. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Deltek Costpoint, Costpoint Enterprise Reporting, and ADP Workforce Now, and will be a master user of Microsoft Excel.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in labor accounting and/or payroll administration, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Demonstrable, in-depth experience and proficiency with Deltek Costpoint (specific experience with labor, leave, projects, and reporting modules).
  • Expert-level practical knowledge of Costpoint Enterprise Reporting for report generation and data validation.
  • Proven hands-on experience processing payroll using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (must be able to perform complex data manipulation and analysis as described above).
  • Solid understanding of US payroll tax laws and a working knowledge of international payroll considerations.
  • A proven track record of maintaining extreme attention to detail and accuracy in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Labor-Intensive Payroll Processing: Execute end-to-end payroll processing for weekly and bi-weekly pay cycles, encompassing both domestic and overseas employees. This includes the meticulous validation and entry of complex time data, particularly for government contracting and project-based environments.
  • System Management and Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert and primary operator for payroll and reporting systems. This involves leveraging advanced capabilities within Deltek Costpoint (including modules related to labor and projects), Costpoint Enterprise Reporting for creating and generating sophisticated reports, and ADP Workforce Now for processing and tax compliance.
  • Compliance and Reconciliation: Ensure strict adherence to all federal, state, and international payroll tax regulations. Perform complex general ledger reconciliations related to payroll on a regular basis.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Utilize advanced functions in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, conditional formatting, complex formulas) to audit payroll data, perform deep-dive analysis, create custom reports for management, and model "what-if" scenarios for labor distribution and costing.
  • Critical Problem Solving: Apply critical thinking and high cognitive aptitude to investigate and resolve discrepancies, complex payroll issues, and system errors efficiently and accurately, often under tight deadlines.
  • Deadline Management: Demonstrate a strong, proven ability to manage multiple concurrent payroll deadlines and high-volume tasks with extreme attention to detail and without error.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process efficiencies and implement best practices to streamline labor-intensive tasks within the payroll function.
