About The Position

Reformation has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Knitwear Designer to be a key member of our in-house Design team, leading the knitwear business. This individual will lead design for and support the growth of one of our largest and highest-potential categories, driving the creative vision from concept, to yarn and stitch development through final execution. You will be responsible for translating directional global trends into wearable, customer-right knit pieces that feel distinctly Reformation. The ideal candidate is both highly creative and deeply technical, with mastery of knit construction and a strong commercial instinct. You hold an exceptional taste level, a high bar for quality and sustainability, and the ability to balance innovation with business performance.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional apparel design experience, with a proven track record with an emphasis on knitwear
  • Mastery of knitwear construction, including deep knowledge of yarn properties and knit construction
  • A sophisticated taste level and an elite "finger on the pulse" of both current and emerging trends.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels of the organization.
  • A strong understanding of financial performance and the ability to design commercially viable products that drive growth.
  • A deep, genuine passion for sustainability and its integration into the design process.
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Strong enthusiasm for Reformation as a brand
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Good teamwork and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the VP Design to develop and execute the overarching vision and creative direction of knitwear
  • Own design, fit and execution for the knitwear business driving both creative and commercial results, along with key Merchandising and Buying category partners
  • Analyze global marketplace trends and synthesize findings into a comprehensive, brand-relevant strategy that pushes the boundaries, while maintaining a deep commitment to the Reformation aesthetic.
  • Lead the identification of key silhouettes, innovative sustainable fabrics, ensuring a cohesive and market-leading collection.
  • Anticipate future shifts in the fashion landscape and take calculated, high-reward risks to keep the brand at the cutting edge.
  • Oversee the entire design process, maintaining a high standard for quality while ensuring all styles and style information are organized and executed flawlessly.
  • Drive results by managing cross-functional efforts and maintaining strong relationships with domestic and overseas technical design, product development, and production partners.
