About The Position

The Sr. Key Account Executive’s main priorities are executing our business strategy and initiatives with assigned national and/or regional retail account buyers selling at key inflection points along each retailer’s selling cycle to drive measurable results. This role involves managing administrative needs of retailers, utilizing syndicated data, developing impactful presentations, and communicating relevant sales information to the team. The position also requires collaboration with Suppliers and Brand Management Teams, continuous self-education on distributor products, and developing strong business relationships with account buyers to become a preferred distributor advisor.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record, proof of auto insurance (SR-22 is not acceptable), and own means of reliable transportation.
  • Strong understanding of both distributor and retail operations to ensure supply chain efficiency through timely delivery, reduction of out of stocks, ensuring proper pricing in both systems, calculating retailer on hand, and managing quantity buying patterns.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must have strong presentation and negotiation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred.
  • 3-5 years of Trade Development experience preferred.
  • Wine & Spirits and WSET Certification preferred.
  • Prefer beverage sales experience, knowledge of local market, customer service skills, and experience in the distribution industry.

Responsibilities

  • Driving results through best-in-class sales execution resulting in measurable goal attainment through Net New Distribution, Price, Ad/Display Promotion, and MPOD
  • Managing various administrative needs of each retailer.
  • Working with and being proficient in syndicated data sources such as Neilsen / IRI.
  • Develop Ad/Display Request presentations along the retailer’s specific promotional cadence that are influential and impactful to each retailer’s business strategy highlighting relevant Brand/SKU data to increase our ad/display frequency.
  • Communicate relevant information to the sales team such as weekly ad features, autoship programs, pricing changes, ROT reports, Add/Delete results from assortment cycles, distribution gap reports, post promotional analysis, etc. for alignment with each warehouse entity and supplier network to optimize store level execution.
  • Collaborate with Suppliers and Brand Management Teams to stay up to date on relevant innovations, programming, branding / product updates, discontinuations etc.
  • Continue self-education of distributor products within various commodities with a focus on Wine and Spirits.
  • Developing productive and mutually beneficial business relationships with assigned National and Regional account buyers further enhancing credibility while developing trust as their preferred distributor advisor.
