About The Position

Taylor Design, a 100% employee-owned firm voted Best Architectural Firm To Work For since 2018, is seeking Senior Job Captains for their Orange County office to work with clients in the healthcare market. This role involves working with a team of architects and designers on award-winning projects. A Senior Job Captain is a key member of the project team, responsible for coordinating and executing all project phases from planning and conceptual design through construction. Key duties include developing Revit BIM models, creating construction documents, and coordinating the project team. This role operates collaboratively within a design team, under the supervision of a Project Manager or Project Architect, to ensure project deliverables are met with consistent design intent and high-quality execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent education.
  • Working toward becoming a Registered Architect.
  • Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in a professional architectural office setting.
  • Revit knowledge as well as MS Suite.
  • Prior experience with Construction Administration on Healthcare projects (OSHPD/HCAI experience a huge plus).

Responsibilities

  • Effectively coordinate their own work and the work of others using BIM and other design technology tools.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager or Project Architect to ensure project resources are scheduled and used effectively.
  • Have good working knowledge of project staffing, budgets, and task management.
  • Communicate with consultants, contractors, sub-consultants, and project team to clarify technical issues and share project information with project team.
  • Produce design and construction documents and actively work towards a complete understanding of jurisdictional code issues and resolutions.
  • Actively participate in researching construction materials, assemblies, and details.
  • Be responsible for quality control of their own work and maintaining office standards for documentation.
  • Participate in the on-going development of firm wide BIM applications, tools, templates, and processes.
  • Actively participate in QA reviews of technical documents.
